OST Conference 2017! If you have never been to an OST, it's a ton of fun. OST means "out of school time". All those extra-curricular sports clubs, volunteer, daycare, social service centres activities are all types of OST. I'll be working with the Boys and Girls Club Big Brothers and Sisters Foundation during the summer and they invited me to join the conference. We learned everything from pocket and minimalist games to volunteer and behaviour management. Nothing is more entertaining and fun than seeing a bunch of adults trying to play Children's games. My favourite game by far was Bob the Weasel. Everyone stands in a circle shoulder to shoulder and there's one person in the middle. A rubber chicken or any kind of large toy is passed around the circle behind the back of the middle player. The middle player who is it has to try and guess where the chicken is all the while everyone is singing "Bob the Weasel, keep it going, keep it going". Someone at any time could raise the chicken really quickly and hide it. If you saw it then you get to sing "I saw the Weasel". The middle person gets 3 guesses. I'd highly recommend trying it!
